Why approvals get lost

Most practices already have some form of review. What is missing is the link between the answer received and the exact thing it referred to.
The answer arrives on a different channel from the drawing
You send drawings by email or file transfer, and the approval comes back as a separate message. A month later the two can no longer be matched up.
Nobody knows which version was approved
v2 and v3 have appeared since. The approval from three weeks ago referred to a drawing that no longer exists in that form.
The rejection arrives without a usable reason
"I do not like it" does not tell you what to change. Another round of phone calls follows just to find out what actually needs redoing.
Nobody knows who approved
On projects with several clients — a couple, two partners, an investor and a manager — "we approved it" becomes "nobody asked me".

Four things you can produce at any time
Every approval in Layro carries the context that makes it usable later, without asking anything extra of the client.
The person’s name and the exact moment
The request goes to the clients you choose. Each answer is given in that person’s own name and carries the date it was given, not the date it was passed on to you.
The version it refers to
The approval is tied to the file and version on the table at that moment. Earlier versions stay accessible, so what was approved can always be seen exactly as it was.
A written reason, mandatory on rejection
The client cannot reject without writing why. You get an answer you can act on directly, rather than an opinion that needs another round of clarification.
A history that cannot be rewritten
The approval enters a cryptographically chained log along with everything else that happened in the phase. One button confirms the chain is intact and nothing was altered after the fact.

About approvals and sign-off
Is this a qualified electronic signature?
No. Layro does not issue qualified electronic signatures within the meaning of the eIDAS Regulation. What it gives you is a complete, verifiable approval trail: who approved, when, against which version, and — on rejection — for what reason, all in a cryptographically chained log that neither you nor the client can rewrite.
What if the project has several clients?
You choose who the request goes to. Each of them answers separately, in their own name, and the phase closes automatically only once everyone you selected has approved.
Can I request an approval with a cost attached?
Yes. The request can carry an optional additional cost, which the client sees before answering. Accepted costs add up per phase with a To invoice / Invoiced status.
What happens to a phase sent for sign-off?
It stays locked while it is with the client, so what you just sent for approval cannot change underneath them. If everyone approves, the phase closes automatically.
